If you are reading this then you are most likely new to the forums. Welcome!
Please make sure that you have read and understood the following rules and guidelines. This prevents confusion and possible punishment for your ignorance to the rules.
Forum Rules / Guidelines:
Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Use common sense while posting.
2) Offensive Content:
Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, or otherwise overly discriminatory is not permitted on these forums. This includes user pictures. Use common sense.
3) Illegal Content:
Providing or asking for information on how to illegally obtain or provide software is not welcome.
Please do not post a topic in more than one forum, let alone post the same topic twice.
5) Comment ownership:
Comments & forum messages are owned by the poster. Therefore, it is one's right to have their comment hidden by staff if requested.
When posting content from a book, magazine, news site, or any off-site content that you are not the owner of, please use proper citation of the author of said content.
Breaking rules to stop other rule breakers, or to prove a point. Just because they did it, doesn't mean you can do it as well, nor should you evade a ban "just to prove a point".
8) Multiple Accounts:
Using multiple accounts is unnecessary; please do not do so.
This rule is obvious: do not spam the forums with meaningless comments or topics.
10) Quality of posts:
Please do not make pointless topics or posts.
Do not make multiple separate comments in a row. Instead, edit your previous comment and add your text onto there.
Advertisement of other communities and/or hosted servers are prohibited unless approved prior. This, however, does not include one's signature.
Failure to follow said rules after being warned by staff will result in consequences [most likely a warning point]. Repeated failure to follow the rules despite warnings and previous punishments will result in more extreme consequences [this includes suspensions from the forums and in-game servers].
(The above rarely happens because we're cool and you're all cool.)
1) General Maturity:
By far the most simple guideline. Please treat everyone with respect and you shall be rewarded with the same. Of course, you needn't act as if you are in love with everyone [unless that is the case]. Arguments and directed comments are permitted, however whilst conducting said things please do so at a mature level. Your conduct at MustyGaming should be pleasant to all, providing everyone is thinking logically.
2) Problems with other members:
Should you have a major problem with another user, please do not post it publicly as doing so will ultimately result in a locked topic and unnecessary flaming. Instead, privately report it to an Administrator. You may also use the report form.
If the Administrator is involved, see rule 3.
3) Problems with Administrators/ Staff:
Administrators/Developers/Moderators are volunteers who spend their time making MustyGaming as fantastic as it is. They are examples of how to act on the forums and in-game. However, should you feel that a staff member is misusing their power and/or breaking any one of the rules, please feel free to message the particular staff member with a calm explanation of your troubles, or report it to an Administrator that is not involved. This includes apparent abuse of in-game administration tools, i.e. what appears to be "hacking".
Such situations seldom occur, however all staff members are still human.
4) Posting topics in the right area:
Please attempt to post topics in the correct areas. Should you fail to do so, your topic will be moved by a staff member to the correct area. However, continuous failure of said action will result in one being verbally warned by a staff member.
In-game Rules / Guidelines:
1) Hacks, scripts and exploitation:
No hacking, scripting or exploiting the mechanics of the game (that includes abusing glitches such as wall-exploits, duping, etc).
2) Staff instructions:
Whether you feel a staff member to be right or not, you follow their instruction(s). If you feel you have been treated unjustly by a staff member, please read rule (3) of basic guidelines. Though, we're all cool people.
Failure to follow said rules after being warned by staff will result in consequences [this includes a kick from the server or a temporary ban if necessary]. Repeated failure to follow the rules despite warnings and previous punishments will result in more extreme consequences [this always includes a ban from in-game servers, depending upon the situation, as well as possible forum bans if it is deemed necessary.] (However the latter consequence seldom occurs.)
Teamspeak Rules / Guidelines:
1) No spam of any kind:
Such as, but not limited to, voice, chat messages, music, recorded messages, voice modification software, or other instances that would constitute a general annoyance. [However it is okay with friends/people who accept it].
2) No Advertising:
Other Teamspeak servers, communities, networks, organizations and/or websites that are otherwise not associated with MustyGaming UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION BY STAFF.
3) No Flaming:
Such as, but not limited to, derogatory comments meant to incite a response to further an argument towards ones race, gender, creed, religion, sexual orientation, abnormalities, or medical conditions. This also falls underneath discrimination.
4) No Sexually explicit material (Unless it's homoerotic):
Such as, but not limited to, text, images, links, videos and general descriptions of sexually explicit material
5) No Piracy/Linking to pirated software:
Such as, but not limited to, pirated software, cracked software, and abandonware.
6) No threats of any kind:
Such as, but not limited to, DDoS Threats, Personal Threats, Hack threats and Death Threats. HOWEVER, if they are presented in joke-form/are not serious threats, it is okay. [For example: I tell SergeantSquiggs to go kill himself, and he is aware it is a joke.]
Ban Appeal Process:
All Administrators, Developers and Moderators are trained in the art of keeping the servers and Forums safe and free from those whose presence is deemed unfit for the halls of MustyGaming. It is unlikely that your ban has no valid reason behind it; such an occurrence is extremely rare. However, should you feel that you have been banned unfairly, please submit a ban appeal via this form.
*****Please do not:******
Post an appeal regarding a BattlEye Global Ban - Neither we nor the DayZ Forum Team / Staff deal with or issue Global Bans. Should you do so, your topic will be locked. Please contact BattlEye Support regarding this issue and please do not post about it on the DayZ Forums. Chances are, I'll end up locking it on there too.
Post a topic regarding your ban on our forums publicly - It will be locked immediately and you will be directed to where you originally were told to post it, the Ban Appeal form.
