Play like NASA get results like NASA, play like Top Gear and get results like Top Gear.

That being said I use it mostly to do tasks that become menial or over complex, calculating phase angles for IP burns and holding proper attitude with SSTOs is mostly what I use it for. Plus getting my massive 3fps rockets off the pad once they've made it a few times by hand.

i havnt played it much lately though

edit; my guys on Minmus was kind of lucky but not. it was a Mun return ship but i saw i had the trajectory for Minmus and went for it. i didnt have enough fuel to return and the ship broke after landing.

Doesn't sound too difficult, I'm just concerned with practical ISP especially in the heavy gravity, I'll need to build something with maximum efficiency but enough thrust to get out of the atmosphere before i dump too much fuel.

Possibly a multi stage lander that ditches empty cells + runs some turbofan engines.

multi -stage landers are a bitch if you have to much fuel.  it'll be trial and error. DONT USE MECHJEB!!!!!!!!! removes half the challenge of the game

yeah

I just got this game...it's awesomesauce, but I have no idea what I'm doing yet. I almost made it into orbit around Kerbal after 5 tries, but that turned into 1/4 around the world then ocean bound.  :Klesh:

**But I like it and will work on the orbit, then the mun today.

DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO!

I ended up ditching that concept after the kraken attacked it in Eve atmosphere. Just about to send a rover there but got distracted with some space stations I was building + I made a re-usable vehicle that I could take to and from KSC to any point in Kerbin orbit and back + do a powered landing.

If only I had a decent way to take screenies on my pooter. I've been playing this lately and have gotten two stable orbiting probes and one succesful manned orbit and return.

Looking to get to Mun, or get a space station started, whichever comes first.

Loads of Kerbal Krashing fun.

I've actually fallen out of Mechjeb lately because I do far more efficient launches and such without it. I keep it around because it's great for off the cuff delta-v readouts plus interplanetary transfers.

I've gotten sucked up into building reliable launch vehicles based off real-life equivalent, my current hangars include a functional Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, Delta IV, Antares and working on a Minotaur V at the moment.

I've also started modding some files so I can get truer to life builds so I've got my 8 engine Falcon and so forth but my next big target is an N1 vehicle.

Time to get in shape for the next patch, building some ridiculously light weight and efficient launchers for the new career mode.

EDIT:

My Falcon 9.1 launch of CASSIOPE from three days ago.

For comparison:

My launch went North-South where as the real one went South-North plus I hadn't modded me an octoweb yet.

Tragedy struck last night when my first Mun-bound probe ran out of electricity. I just sat there staring at my screen as I watched my helpless probe become the victim of savage gravitational fields, eventually ending up in a semi stable orbit about the same distance out as Duna.

Long story short, how do you get rechargeable batteries to work in conjunction with your power generating thingies(in my case two solar panels)?

I have gotten the blutonium dealies to work once, but I was looking for something more light weight for my first Mun probe.

Ok I'm late for the party, but here goes.

I have 0 FUCKING CLUE how to get my space ship (if I could call it this way) off the ground. No where in my deranged mind can I find something suitable to make a peice of metal get off the ground and safely into space.

But first, I,d probably have to get out off 10,000 feet into the air, that would help.

Every single one of my concoctions either did a backflip right on lift off, spun out of control mid-air or simply didn't lift.

SOMEONE SHOW ME THE WAYS I REALLY WANT TO LIKE THIS GAME I GAVE IT OVER 10 HOURS BUT TO NO AVAIL.

Start small, don't speed time up til after you've left the atmosphere, build symmetrical, put the avionics thingy and the SAS thingy, and turn it on preliftoff with r or t.

Also you can't be dumb. You did put the rockets with the burny part facing down right?
